And now it's time to look at some of your work..... in the gallery (Post It Note Edition)

The Gallery - Post It Notes

Did you grow up in the 70s/80s? If you did and lived to survive the tale, you'll be able to recall one of your first introductions to the world of Art.
Long before Neil Buchanan (I had to Google him that's how rubbish he was) jumped on the band wagon with Art Attack Tony Hart was the Don of the Children's TV art scene, bridging the gap between potato printing on Playschool and Rolf's Cartoon Time (the less about him the better!).
He made art cool - before we knew (or cared) what that word meant, along with Johnny Ball he was a staple for any kid growing up in a time that the BBC educated us outside of school and made it fun.

From Vision On, via Take Hart to Hart Beat we met Wilf Lunn the Eccentric Inventor, Mr Bennett the Caretaker and of course that lovable piece of plasticine Morph. Another part of all three shows was the Gallery, a place where artwork submitted by the young viewers was displayed on screen accompaniment of music. Each piece would have the name and age of the artist and occasionally Tony would comment on a piece saying what he liked about it, but my main memory of this segment would be me, my brother and sister all sat far too close to the telly saying as each picture came up 'I could do that' 'I could do that' 'I couldn't do that'.......anyone?

And it's with that in mind that I've compiled this blog for your viewing pleasure (and for those without Instagram), just press play on the below clip as now it's time to look at some of my work in the gallery......

TV and Filums

Happy Birthday

Merry Christmas

Plenty of room on the bandwagon........

And with that announcement the longest running Sci-Fi series in television history gained a whole host of new fans. Or new-ish, you've always been fans - been aware of the show, watched the odd episode, knew who was playing Doctor Who at the time, but now with Peter Capaldi we have a mainstream actor taking over the role, an actor who will no doubt bring his own fans along for the ride.

Of course this new Doctor won't be as sweary as Malcolm Tucker, but he'll be no less angry, dark and mysterious - and he'll bringing those eyebrows with him*

It all starts this Saturday Evening and by Monday Monday you'll be claiming you have been watching it since the Tom Baker years......

You like Doctor Who now, Doctor Who is cool..........

*this blog has been a shameless for my drawing. I am available for Weddings, Christenings and Bar   mitzvahs  email phil_potter2003@yahoo.com for details.

Bluddy, bluddy ,bluddy.......

It's Wednesday and that can only mean one thing - for me anyway, it's The bluddy Apprentice. Sir Lord Alan of Sugar is still the gift that keeps on giving for me and the only real reason to watch.
So in his honour we have this week's picture, drawn with the MASSIVE  help of my brand spanking new fine line pens I picked up here
This was one of my first proper attempts at drawing with pens and it came out okay.
I'm hoping to get another picture up at the weekend, but in the meantime enjoy this clip put together by Cassette Boy also celebrating the work of his Sugarship.

Matt Smith - The Regeneration Game......

I like Doctor Who..........there I've said it......
And with being a Doctor Who fan you have your favourite Doctors - a bit like a football fan has their favourite player and like footballers of today you know you shouldn't get too attached because they're bound to move on and forget all about you.
Change is always a part of Doctor Who so we should get used to it, but still. It was announced this weekend that Matt Smith would be leaving the role of Doctor Who and I'm a bit gutted really.

Tom Baker was my Doctor, but Matt was up there right on his scarf tails and so it'll be a long wait till November for the 50th Anniversary to see him again and the Christmas Special after that being his last story. His performance alone kept me watching the show as a forty year old who should know better and I will be sad to see him go.

Oh and he's so good to draw!
